💡 Click Start Survey to begin. Your task: click as close as possible to each target point (column position) to simulate setting out on a construction site. Your total station has ±2mm accuracy — can you match it?
In a real setting out survey in Dubai, a licensed surveyor uses a Leica or Trimble total station — an electronic instrument combining a theodolite (angle measurement) and a distance meter — to calculate and physically mark each column or pile position from the approved structural drawings.
The process: (1) Set up the total station over a known control point. (2) Orient to a second control point. (3) Enter the design coordinates for each column. (4) The instrument calculates where to look. (5) Walk the prism pole to where the instrument signals. (6) Drive a nail or pin at the exact position. Modern total stations achieve ±1–2mm accuracy — far better than what a human can do in this game!
